were flying out tomorrow morning to seattle. i was wondering if anybody who has been knows anything fun to do around the airport area. like good shopping malls, food places, etc?
ive looked it up but dont find much around the area.
oh ok! well i'm from Seattle so, places to go. The EMP is a must see...well it's better for those who are really into music, but it's still fun either way. Go over to the space needle afterwords take the elevator to the top and have an amazing dinner with an amazing view with your family. You can take the monerail there and to the emp and to down town Seattle. You should also go to Pikes Place Market, huge market filled with everything and anything you can think of. they have amazing fresh fruits and you can see them throw the fish of the day if you catch it at the right time.
If you wanna kill about an hour of time hop on the ferry take it over to bainbridge and then hop on it back to seattle. it's about 5 bucks a person, but they only charge 1 way. there's nothing really exciting in bainbridge but i live for the ferry ride. I cant wait to go home and visit family cuz i get to ride that ferry.
I am going to be spending the night in seattle next week! I will be there for like 14 hours...I am trying to decide if I want to get a hotel or just sleep in the USO. Is there shuttles from the airport to the hotels?
The Space Needle is awesome. We went there the day before we flew out to here (we were only there for a day and a half). It's really expensive though! But worth it. We took the city bus from our hotel to the area around there...walked by the fisherman's wharf thing but didn't walk down there since I'm scared of fish...got lost a bit...eventually found the Space Needle lol

Yep...most every hotel has a shuttle. We took one, and go figure, there were a bunch of marines at our hotel leaving for basic...lol

Yeah. When we walked out of the airport there were a ton of hotel shuttles. We just jumped in the Red Roof Inn one since it's usually cheap there. It wasn't expensive and they give military discounts. And their shuttle runs every 30 min or hour. We caught it around 3am the morning we had to leave to come here. They also had a little breakfast area.
i didnt even look at red roof inn. i prob should have shopped for deals. we got the ramada for like 185 for 3 nites. i thought that was a deal so we got it.
I am not going to make reservations just show up and get a room... so cheap is good :) I will probably do whatevers cheapest!
GET OFF MY PLANE!
I am PCSing :) and I am 8 months pregnant and thats the last week I can flY!! I am so excited to see my family :)
We had a lot of fun walking around downtown Seattle and going to the Space Needle.
There is an aquarium there-we didn't go b/c we were only there for 1 day.
We went to an awesome store that makes cheese by the Pike Place Market. That was nice.
(Both times I was there it was cold, so it'll probably be a lot more fun when it's warmer!)

Yes Shuttles go everywhere from the airport
hmm the Tukwilla Romada is pretty close to the Tukwilla Mall, you could always head over there. It's a pretty big mall, and there are lots of little shopping outlets near by too.
There is an aquarium
quite honestly the aquarium isn't worth it, it's kinda small and pretty spendy. I love the aquarium myself, but it's nothing compared to the one here on base.
