Well it looks like we got a flight out of Naha tomorrow at 1. However, American Airlines can't get us a flight to Chicago until Wednesday, so we are going to be stuck in Seattle for 3 days. Any suggestions on where to stay and what to do?

Casey --- 14 years ago -

any of the three hotels i've stayed in across from the airport are nice. there's the holliday inn, the clarion, and another i can't recall but it was a chain. the clarion is old, but safe, and cheap. it was about $73 a night with the military discount. i would definitely do the aquarium... maybe pikes place market, they're close together. i wanted to do the Sci Fi museum, if that's your thing. my cousins said there was a music museum of some sort too. the hotels probably have a brochure that maps all of the points of interest. the aquarium and pikes market are my two favorite things to do in seattle though.

We loved Seattle! Go walk around Pikes Place Market (I think that's the name??), the Space Needle...

If you want to get close to another disaster zone, head down to Mt. St. Helen's.

While you are in Seattle, please go say "Hi" to Frasier for me.

You said you will be "STUCK in Seattle" for a few day, perhaps you will also be SLEEPLESS due to the jetlag.

We stayed at the USO. They were super friendly, and we had our own room! I LOVED it. :D Space needle sounds fun too!!

SFC :) --- 14 years ago -

We stayed at the Sheraton...NICE.
Have fun in Seattle!

Yeah, as Nicole mentioned, Pike's Place market is awesome. The whole downtown area is pretty cool, with lot's to do and all remotely close...

Link to Pike Place Market

There are some other touristy travel things in the link as well...

This is the link for some of the better hotels (according to this website, not me)

Casey --- 14 years ago -

has anyone mentioned pikes place market yet?

Amurikan Lunatic --- 14 years ago -

I did. Duh. It's right above your post.

Casey --- 14 years ago -

... that was sarcasm. i'm pretty sure i *might* have mentioned it in my first post too. i could be experiencing early onset dementia though.

Amurikan Lunatic --- 14 years ago -

Mine was sarcasm as well. Your sarcasm detector sucks.

Casey --- 14 years ago -

it always sucks when i don't fall asleep until 5.

Amurikan Lunatic --- 14 years ago -

Yeah, I think mine would be off as well under those circumstances..

sToO --- 14 years ago -

If you are ever in Seattle you should go to that Pake's Plice Merkat thingy, or whatever it is called.

Did you know that they throw fish around in there!
Just like sarcasm is thrown around OU!

Nicole --- 14 years ago -

Sorry. I missed that it was mentioned.

ChiTownGrl --- 14 years ago -

Thanks guys. Anyone know anything about Pike's Place Market? :)

I'm gonna look at hotels now and hopefully book one.

MOMtoAandZ --- 14 years ago -

Looks like we will be on the same flight. We are staying at LaQuinta Inn. No clue if it is good or not, it is where the military booked us.

MOMtoAandZ --- 14 years ago -

I asked some locals and they said it was fine. If we get there and it looks horrible, then we won't check in.

ChiTownGrl --- 14 years ago -

We booked the Hilton. I used Hotwire.com and for all 3 nights, it's only like $250. I'm saving the receipt though and hopefully we will be reimbursed.

That is actually NOT that bad!

ChiTownGrl --- 14 years ago -

I went on Hilton's site and the regular price for the room was $209 per night. I love hotwire.com. We aren't really picky about the name of the hotel we stay at so it doesn't bother us that we don't get the name until after it's booked and we always end up getting really good deals.

The Dramallama --- 14 years ago -

I live here. :-).

Go to the experience music project. Trust me.

Loved living in Oki --- 14 years ago -

If you go to the USO in the airport, they usually have discounts for local hotels. When we were stuck in San Fran on our way here the USO got us a room at the Westin cheaper than we found online.

that's the one i was talking to my cousin about. she said the same thing.
